Highlights
- William Benitz, MD, was a featured speaker at the Hot Topics in Neonatology conference in National Harbor, MD, December 9-11. This year’s conference spotlighted sepsis, and Dr. Benitz spoke about options in implementing strategies for early-onset sepsis screening. The preconference on December 8 focused on neonatal quality, and Jochen Profit, MD, MPH, was the keynote speaker talking about culture and how it drives quality.

Anoop Rao, MD, and Bill Rhine, MD, and GE Global Research have initiated a new collaborative effort and sponsored research agreement titled "NICU of the Future" to enable development and testing of devices that are necessary to advance the care that is provided to infants. Devices to enable unobtrusive vital sign monitoring are currently being tested in the NICU at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.
