This September, nearly 800 people attended the Stanford Medicine Children’s Health’s 40th Annual NICU & ICN Graduation Party. The celebration reunites families with our doctors and nurses who cared for them. Seeing our patients out in the world growing and thriving inspires us in our work every day.
Philip Sunshine, 94, Dies; Pioneer in Treatment of Premature Babies
A founder of neonatology, he helped revolutionize the care of preterm and critically ill newborns. “We were able to keep babies alive that would not have survived,” he said.

The West Coast Foundations Course in Neonatal and Pediatric Care
The Neonatal and Pediatric Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Course is a two-day, hands-on workshop for clinicians caring for infants and children. The program combines focused lectures with small group scanning on live models and simulators, covering vascular, pulmonary, cardiac, abdominal, spine and cranial applications.
